It is curious that he is careful to give his wife one-third of everything, but says nothing about the other two-thirds.
The following details are believed to be true but should not be totally relied upon:
The testator is thought to have married three times: to Elizabeth X, with son William (1677 qv); to Joane WHEELER; and to Alyce HIGHORNE who survived him.

I Richard Coopper of Chadlington in the County of Oxford husbandman
weake in Body but of perfect Remembrance God be thanked for it doe make this my
last Will and Testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my Soule into
the Hands of Almightie God hoping by the merits and Intercession of my Lord and
Saviour to be restored to a joyfull Resurrection In the second place my Body to be
buried in the Churchyeard of Chadlington And for my worldly Goods wherewith
God hath blessed mee I dispose of in maner and forme following Inprimis I give to
the Church of Chadlington twelve pence Item I give to the poore of Chadlington
twelve pence Item I give to my Man Samuell Watts one pide heifer and five good
sheepe Item I give to my Wife Allice Coopper my house with the Appurtenances
thereunto at Chipping Norton during her naturall life and after her naturall life is
ended I give the said house in Chipping Norton to my Sonn William Cooper and his
heirs forever Item I give unto my Sonn William Coopers two Children two sheepe
betweene them Item I give to Richard Tarlisse one sheepe Item I give to Susanna
Tarlisse one sheepe Item I give to my Daughter Allice Platt and her Child one
sheepe Item I give to my wife Allice Cooper one third part of all my Goods about

Cooper his marke / In the p[re]sents of Thomas Lord Jun. Andrewe Adamse. /
And likewise my Godchild George Haughten one Lambe is given him and my
Godchild Richard Shury I give one Lambe. /

This Will was proved at Westminster the eighteenth day of May
in the year of our Lord 1653 before the Judges for probate of Wills and
granting Administratons according to an Act of Parlyament entituled an Act for
probate of Wills and granting Administrations by the Oathes of William Cooper
and Robert Cooper the Sonnes and Executors named in the said Will to whome the
Administraton was remitted of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Debts of the
said deceased they being first sworne by Com'ission truly to administer [..]. /
