  • I give £5 to my nephew John Hanks, son of my brother John.
  • I give £5 to my sister Elizabeth Ward.
  • I give £10 to my wife's niece Elizabeth Payn and £5 to her niece Mary Payn, daughters of her sister Mary Payn of Hanborough, deceased, both to be paid at my wife's decease.
  • I give all the residue of my goods and chattels (my debts and legacies being paid) to my dear and loving wife whom I make sole Executrix.

I Abraham Hanks of Handborough in the County of Oxford yeoman
being weake in body yet of a sound and perfect mind and memory
thanks be Given to Almighty God for the same doe this twenty second Day
of January in the Eleventh year of the Reigne of our Soveraigne
Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britaine france and
Ireland King Defender of the ffaithe and in the year of our Lord God
one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven make and ordaine
this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first
I Give and bequeath unto my Brother John Hanks five pounds and
also I Give unto my Nephew John Hanks Son of my said Brother
five pounds Also I Give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Ward
ffive pounds all Lawfull money of Great Britaine also I Give unto my wifes
Neece Elizabeth payn ten pounds of Lawfull money to be paid to her at the
Deceace of my wife also I Give unto my wifes other neece mary payne
five pounds to Commence at the Decease of my wife both the Daughters
of my wifes Sister mary payn late of Handborough Deceased all the
Rest and Residue of my Good and Chattels not herein in this my Will before
Given my Debts and Legacies being paid and Discharged I Give and
bequeath unto my Dear and Loving Wife Whom I doe make full
and Sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament In witness
to this my Last will and testament I the said Abraham Hankes have
hereunto set my hand and Seale
