  • I give all my household Messuage or Tenement and garden etc in Deddington to my grandson William Malings (son of my son Thomas Malings) and his Executors etc
  • I give my son Thomas Malings all my wearing apparel both linen and woollen.
  • I give my daughter Elizabeth Fardon all the furniture, goods, chests and boxes with the linen therein, and all the other effects in the parlour and the best bedroom in my dwelling house for her own use.
  • I give my six grandsons Thomas, Robert and Samuel Malings (sons of my son Thomas), Samuel and William Malings (sons of my son Robert) and William Malings (son of my son William) £240 equally divided between them, to be paid within twelve months after my decease or as and when they reach 21 years, whichever happens last. If any of them has not reached 21 within twelve months after my decease, their legacies shall carry interest to be paid to them half yearly, and their receipts (notwithstanding their infancy) shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor.
  • I give my grandson William Malings (son of Thomas) all my ready money, debts and securities for money and [everything else] not already disposed of (after payment of my debts, legacies and funeral expenses) absolutely.

By the Permission of Almighty God I Samuel Malings of
Dadington in the County of Oxford Yeoman being of sound mind
memory and understanding do this Tenth day of March in
the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and nineteen
make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner
and form following (that is to say) I give and bequeath all my household
Messuage or Tenement and Garden with all the appurtenances
thereunto belonging situate and being in Dadington aforesaid
unto my Grandson William Malings (son of my son Thomas
Malings) his Executors Administrators and Assigns Next I
give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas Malings all my
wearing apparel both linen and woollen for his own benefit
Next I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Fardon all the furniture
Goods chests and boxes with the linen therein and all other the
Effects that shall be in the parlour and in the best bed room in
my now dwelling house at the time of my Decease to and for her
own use and benefit Next I give and bequeath unto my Six
Grandsons Thomas Robert and Samuel Malings (the Sons of my
said son Thomas Malings) and to Samuel and William
Malings the sons of my son Robert Malings and to William
Malings (the Son of my Son William Malings) the legacy or sum
of two hundred and forty pounds to equally divided between
them and to be paid by my Executor herinafter named within twelve
months next after my decease or when and as my said Grandsons
shall attain their respective ages of twenty one years which shall
last happen but in case of any or either of my said Grand sons shall
not have attained his or their several and Respective ages of twenty
one years within twelve Months next after my decease In that
case I direct that their respective legacies shall bear and carry
lawful interest for the same to be paid and payable to him or them
my said Grandsons by half yearly payment and his or their
receipt and receipts for the same notwithstanding his or their
infancy shallbe good and sufficient discharge and discharges to
my Executor paying the same And I give and bequeath unto my
said grandson William Malings (the Son of my said
Son Thomas Malings) all my Ready Money debts and
Securities for money and all other my personal Estate
Goods and Effects whatsoever not hereinbefore disposed
of (after payment of all my Debts legacies and
Funeral Expenses) to and for his own use and
benefit absolutely And I do hereby make and appoint

my said Grandson William Malings (the Son of my said
Son Thomas Malings) Sole Executor of this my last Will
and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former
Wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this
alone to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof
I the said Samuel Malings the Testator have to this my last
Will and Testament contained in this and the preceding sheet of
paper (and which hath been read over to me) set my hand
and Seal the day and year first within written

preceding Sheet of paper was signed and
sealed by the said Samuel Malings the
Testator and by him published and
declared as and for his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who
at his request and in his sight and
presence and in the Sight and presence
of each other have subscribed our
names as witnesses thereto

3rd June 1828 William Malings the Executor named in the above will of Samuel Malings
deceased who died on the Eight day of May last was duly sworn to the truth thereof and
that he would in all things duly administer according to Law And that the personal Estate
and effects of the deceased do not amount in value to three hundred pounds

This Will was proved at Oxford on the sixteenth day of July in the year of our Lord 1828 Before the
Reverend Henry Wintle Clerk Master of Artrs Surrogate of the Reverend George Turner Clerk Master of Arts
Official principal of the Reverend the Archdeacon of Oxford lawfully constituted as by the oath of William Malings
the grandson and sole Executor therein named to whom admon was granted being first sworn duly to
administer
